The silk twilly «Pushkin's Fairy Tales» is inspired by «By the seashore stands a green oak» - the prologue to the poem «Ruslan and Lyudmila» by A. S. Pushkin.

Within Pushkin's 33 lines lies an immense fairy-tale world, full of wonders and marvellous heroes.
The scarf depicts the characters of Lukomorye: the mermaid, the handsome knights, the young prince, the bogatyr and the sorcerer, the tsarevna and the brown wolf, Baba Yaga and Tsar Kashchei.

At the centre stands a mighty age-old oak - the tree of life, its branches reaching into the sky.
And, of course, the cat - just now he walks to the right, and strikes up a song. 
The graphic work takes its inspiration from Palekh lacquer miniature - a craft that blends the traditions of Old Russian icon painting with folk art, and in which Pushkin's tales are a favourite subject.

Jewel-fine lines, an abundance of gold and a vivid narrative recall the enchanted lacquer boxes of Palekh.
The twilly's design brings together Russianness, the warmth of a beloved childhood tale, contemporary graphics and colour.
